On Thursday March 25, 2010 the International Mechanical Engineering Conference convened at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, California. Representing the Labdoo Project and the UC Irvine chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) were engineering students Kerchia Chen, Kenny
Chow, and Kevin Launglucknavalai.  Every year the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) invites department heads and faculty leaders from universities around the world to discuss current issues as well as strategies to help improve their research and educational programs.  The
conference was well attended with more than 80 professors present throughout the three day event.  The students presented aspects of their projects to various professors including ones from Michigan Tech, Iowa State, and the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland). They received positive feedback on both Labdoo and on EWB-UCI's up and coming rainwater and sanitation project in Kenya.
